Jampa Lhakhang is a revered temple in Bumthang, believed to have been constructed in 659 AD by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo to subdue a demoness. It is one of the 108 temples built across the Himalayas. The temple houses a statue of Maitreya (the future Buddha) and features ancient murals. Pilgrims and visitors come to circumambulate the temple and soak in its serene atmosphere. The temple is also a key site during the Jambay Lhakhang Drup festival.
