Jakar Dzong, also known as the 'Castle of the White Bird,' is a prominent fortress and monastery overlooking the town of Jakar in Bumthang Valley. Built in 1667, it houses both monastic and administrative offices. The dzong features a distinctive central tower and offers panoramic views of the Chokhor Valley. Visitors can explore its courtyards, temples, and the living quarters of monks. The annual Jakar Tshechu festival, with its colorful mask dances, draws many pilgrims and tourists.
