Mexico Rocks is a shallow snorkeling area located about 20 minutes by boat from San Pedro. Unlike the barrier reef, this site is characterized by large boulder-like coral formations that create a maze of crevices and overhangs. Snorkelers can spot lobsters, crabs, parrotfish, and moray eels hiding among the rocks. The calm, clear waters make it ideal for beginners and families seeking a less crowded alternative to Hol Chan.

Don't miss

  • Explore the boulder coral formations for hidden marine creatures.
  • Spot lobsters and crabs tucked in crevices.
  • Snorkel with schools of sergeant majors and blue tangs.
