Brusselpoort

Brusselpoort is the last remaining city gate of Mechelen's original twelve medieval gates, built in the 13th century. It stands as a proud reminder of the city's fortified past. The gate features a massive central arch flanked by two round towers, with a distinctive stepped gable and a statue of the Virgin Mary above the arch. Visitors can walk through the gate's passage, which now serves as a pedestrian and bicycle route, and admire the stonework and historical details.
