Surfing Elephant

Surfing Elephant is a surf school and rental shop located at the Wenduine end of the Blankenberge seafront, right on the dike. Despite the North Sea's reputation for chilly waters, this spot offers consistent waves for beginners and intermediates. The school provides wetsuits, boards, and instruction for both surfing and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). Lessons are typically 2 hours and cover safety, paddling technique, and wave catching. The instructors are patient and speak multiple languages, making it accessible to international visitors. What makes Surfing Elephant distinctive is its prime location at the end of the dike, where the beach is less crowded than in central Blankenberge. The area also has a laid-back, family-friendly vibe. After your session, you can rinse off at the outdoor showers and grab a snack at a nearby beach café. The school operates seasonally, usually from April to October, weather permitting.
