St Aubin's Cathedral is the principal Catholic church in Namur and a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Built in the 18th century on the site of a former Romanesque church, its facade is relatively understated, but the interior dazzles with marble columns, ornate chapels, and a magnificent high altar. The cathedral houses several notable artworks, including paintings by Jacob Jordaens and a carved wooden pulpit. As the seat of the bishop, it remains an active place of worship, hosting regular Masses and concerts. Visitors can explore the nave, the treasury, and the crypt, which contains the tombs of bishops and nobles.
