Saint Peter's Church is a late Gothic cruciform church located on the Grote Markt. Its unfinished tower, known as the 'Mountain of Saint Peter', is a distinctive feature. Inside, the church is spacious and light-filled, with vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows. The main attraction is 'The Last Supper' by Dieric Bouts, a 15th-century painting that is a masterpiece of early Netherlandish art. Other highlights include the carved wooden pulpit, the tomb of Duke Henry I, and the treasury with religious artifacts. The church also hosts temporary art exhibitions. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views of Leuven (when open). The church's serene atmosphere offers a contrast to the bustling square outside.
