Walzin Castle is a stunning medieval castle dramatically situated on a limestone cliff overlooking the Lesse River near Dinant. Its fairy-tale appearance, with round towers and a steep roof, makes it one of the most photographed castles in the region. The castle is privately owned and not open to visitors, but it can be admired from the riverbank or during a canoe trip on the Lesse. The surrounding landscape of forest and river adds to its charm. The best views are from the water or the opposite bank, where the castle seems to grow out of the rock.
