The Coast Tram (Kusttram) is the world's longest tram line, running 67 kilometers along the Belgian coast from De Panne near the French border to Knokke-Heist near the Netherlands. It passes through Blankenberge, making it a convenient and scenic way to explore the entire coastline. The tram trundles along tracks that often run right next to the beach, offering ever-changing views of dunes, sea, and resort towns. The vintage-style carriages add a nostalgic charm, and the journey itself is an attraction. You can hop on and off at any stop to explore different beaches, harbors, or nature reserves. The tram runs frequently, so it's easy to use for day trips between towns like Ostend, Bruges (via connecting train), or the Zwin nature park.

Don't miss

  • Ride the entire route for a full coastal tour
  • Hop off at Ostend for its vibrant promenade and museums
  • Visit the Zwin nature park near Knokke-Heist
  • Enjoy sea views from the tram windows
  • Use it to reach smaller resorts like De Haan or Wenduine
