Jabal al Dukhan, or Mountain of Smoke, is a low but prominent hill in the southern desert of Bahrain. Its name comes from the haze that often shimmers above it in the heat. The summit, at 134 meters, is the highest point in the country and provides sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, including the nearby Bahrain International Circuit. Hikers can explore trails that wind through limestone rocks and desert flora, with the chance to see wild camels. The area is also dotted with ancient burial mounds, adding historical intrigue.
