Jabal al Dukhan, or Mountain of Smoke, rises 134 meters above sea level as Bahrain's tallest natural point. The limestone hill gets its name from the haze that often shrouds its peak. Visitors can hike up well-worn paths to the top, where panoramic views of the surrounding desert and distant cityscapes unfold. The area is also dotted with wild camels and offers a quiet escape from urban life, making it a favorite for sunset photography and short outdoor adventures.

Don't miss

  • Hike to the summit for 360-degree views of the desert and Manama skyline.
  • Spot wild camels roaming the base of the hill.
  • Photograph the limestone formations and the haze that gives the mountain its name.
