Barbar Temple is an ancient temple complex dating back to the Dilmun civilization, around 3000 BCE. Dedicated to the god Enki, the site features three superimposed temples built over centuries, with a unique oval courtyard and a well that may have been used for ritual purification. Visitors can see the stone altars, sacrificial areas, and the remains of a water system. It's a peaceful, open-air site that offers a direct connection to the region's pre-Islamic spiritual life.

Don't miss

  • See the three temple layers built one atop the other, showing architectural evolution.
  • Observe the stone altar and sacrificial platform in the main courtyard.
  • Examine the ancient well and water channels used in purification rituals.
