Zindan Fortress, dating from the medieval period, served both as a defensive stronghold and a prison, as its name suggests ('zindan' meaning dungeon). Located on a hill overlooking Lankaran, the fortress features thick stone walls and a central tower. Visitors can explore the ruins, climb the tower for panoramic views of the city and Caspian Sea, and imagine the site's storied past. Though partially restored, the fortress retains an atmospheric, rugged character. It stands as a testament to the region's strategic importance through centuries.
