Standing at the entrance to Lindau harbor, the Lindau Lighthouse is one of the most photographed landmarks on Lake Constance. Built in the 19th century, it rises 33 meters and is the southernmost lighthouse in Germany. Visitors can climb its 134 steps to the top for a breathtaking 360-degree view of the lake, the Alps, and the historic old town of Lindau. The lighthouse is still operational, with its light visible for miles. Adjacent is the iconic Bavarian Lion statue, which complements the lighthouse in framing the harbor. The site is especially magical at sunset when the light paints the sky and the lake in warm hues.
