Votivkirche stands as a towering neo-Gothic masterpiece on the Ringstraße, its twin spires reaching 99 meters. The church was commissioned by Emperor Franz Joseph's brother after an assassination attempt on the emperor in 1853. Its construction began in 1856 and was completed in 1879. The interior is equally impressive, with soaring vaulted ceilings, intricate stained glass windows, and a sense of light and space. Visitors can attend mass, explore the church's art and architecture, or climb the south tower for panoramic views of Vienna. The church is less crowded than St. Stephen's Cathedral, offering a peaceful retreat.
