Comagena is the site of a Roman auxiliary fort and civilian settlement (vicus) that guarded the Danube frontier in the 1st to 5th centuries AD. Located near the river, the excavated remains include parts of the fort walls, a granary, barracks, and a bathhouse. An on-site museum displays artifacts such as pottery, tools, jewelry, and a Roman milestone. The site is partly open-air, with reconstructed foundations and informative panels. It offers a tangible connection to Tulln's ancient past, set in a peaceful park-like area. Visitors can walk among the ruins and imagine life on the Roman border. The museum provides context on the fort's role in the province of Pannonia.
