Lake Wolfgang is a pristine alpine lake nestled in the Salzkammergut region, just a short walk from the center of Sankt Wolfgang. Its emerald-green waters are fed by mountain streams, creating a refreshing swimming destination in summer. The lake is surrounded by wooded hills and offers several public beaches and grassy sunbathing areas. Visitors can rent rowboats, paddleboards, or electric boats to explore the lake's quiet coves and islets. A well-maintained lakeside promenade stretches for several kilometers, perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. The town's historic center, with its pastel-colored houses and the famous White Horse Inn, adds a charming backdrop. In winter, the lake often freezes over, attracting ice skaters and winter walkers.
