Valluga stands at 2,811 meters as the highest peak in the Arlberg region, offering an unmatched alpine panorama. Access is via a two-stage cable car journey from St. Anton: first to the Galzig station, then a smaller car to the Valluga summit. The final leg is a thrilling ride that ascends steep rock faces. At the top, a viewing platform provides 360-degree vistas stretching from the Swiss Alps to the Tyrolean mountains, including the Ortler and the Bernina range. The summit is also a starting point for expert ski descents, notably the famous Valluga run, a challenging off-piste route. In summer, the cable car operates for sightseers, though hiking is restricted near the summit due to fragile terrain. The experience is unforgettable, with crisp air and a sense of being on top of the world. Due to its altitude, weather can change rapidly, so preparation is key.

Don't miss

  • Ride the two-stage cable car to the summit for breathtaking views of over 100 Alpine peaks.
  • Photograph the panoramic vista from the Valluga viewing platform, especially at sunrise or sunset.
  • For expert skiers, tackle the Valluga run, a steep off-piste descent requiring a guide and avalanche equipment.
  • Visit the small summit chapel, a peaceful spot with stunning backdrop.
  • Enjoy a drink at the Valluga mountain hut, the highest refreshment stop in the Arlberg.
