Schloss Schönbühel is a striking castle that appears to grow out of a rocky cliff overlooking the Danube River, near Melk. Its white walls and pointed towers create a fairy-tale silhouette that has made it a favorite subject for photographers. The castle is privately owned and not open to the public, but it can be viewed from the Danube riverbank or from boat tours.
