Thierberg is a forested hill rising just north of Kufstein, crowned by a wooden lookout tower that rewards visitors with a 360-degree panorama of the town, the Inn River, and the surrounding Alpine peaks. The short, family-friendly hike to the top passes through mixed woodland and open meadows, making it a popular outing for locals and tourists alike. From the tower, you can clearly see the iconic Kufstein Fortress perched on its rocky outcrop, the winding Inn Valley stretching south toward Tyrol's capital, and the jagged silhouette of the Kaisergebirge mountains to the east. The site is particularly lovely in late afternoon when the light softens and the valley glows. Benches near the tower invite you to linger, and the trail continues beyond the tower into the wider Thierberg area, which offers additional walking paths and a small chapel. It's a peaceful escape from the town center, yet close enough to combine with a visit to Kufstein's old town.
