Lengenfeld is a picturesque village in the Kremstal wine region, just northwest of Krems. Its historic center features a medieval church, a former castle, and beautifully restored wine estates (Weingüter). The village is surrounded by vineyards on gentle slopes, producing excellent Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Visitors can tour family-run wineries, many with tasting rooms and cellars. The main square has a fountain and traditional inns. Lengenfeld is less touristy than the Wachau villages, offering a more intimate wine experience. The nearby Krems River adds to the scenic charm.
