The Drei Schwestern (Three Sisters) is a distinctive mountain ridge that forms a dramatic backdrop to Feldkirch. The name comes from the three prominent peaks that rise above the Rhine Valley. Hiking here offers a rewarding experience for outdoor enthusiasts, with trails that range from moderate to strenuous. The most popular route starts from the village of Frastanz and ascends through forests and alpine meadows to the ridge. Along the way, you'll encounter rocky sections and exposed ridges, but the panoramic views of the Vorarlberg Alps, the Rhine Valley, and even Liechtenstein on clear days are spectacular. The summit of the highest sister, the Hohe Warte, reaches 1,973 meters. What makes this hike distinctive is the combination of accessible trailheads near Feldkirch and the sense of adventure on the ridge itself. It's a favorite among locals for a full-day outing.
