Schareck is a prominent 3,123-meter peak in the Hohe Tauern range, easily accessible from Bad Gastein via the Stubnerkogelbahn cable car, which brings visitors close to the summit. This mountain is a year-round destination: in winter, it offers excellent skiing and snowboarding on well-groomed slopes, while summer invites hikers to explore trails with panoramic views of the Gastein Valley and surrounding glaciers. The summit area features a viewing platform and a restaurant, making it a popular spot for both adventure seekers and casual visitors. The contrast between the rugged alpine terrain and the modern cable car infrastructure makes Schareck a unique blend of wilderness and convenience. On clear days, the view extends to the Grossglockner, Austria's highest peak.
