Lake Altaussee

Lake Altaussee (Altausseer See) is a pristine alpine lake nestled beneath the towering Loser and Trisselwand mountains. Its emerald-green waters, fed by underwater springs, are remarkably clear and inviting for swimmers in the summer months. The lake is relatively small, about 2.1 km long and 0.7 km wide, but its setting is nothing short of spectacular, with steep forested slopes and rocky peaks reflected in the calm surface.
