Tacking Point Lighthouse, built in 1879, is one of Australia's oldest lighthouses still in operation. It stands on a rocky headland south of Port Macquarie, providing uninterrupted views of the coastline. The lighthouse itself is a simple whitewashed structure, but the setting is dramatic: waves crash against the cliffs below, and whales can be spotted during migration season (June–November). A short walking track leads to the base, making it an easy stop for photographers and history buffs.

Don't miss

  • Photograph the historic lighthouse against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
  • Whale-watch from the headland during the annual migration (June–November).
  • Walk the easy Lighthouse Track for panoramic coastal views.
