We got the $75 feed me menu for dinner, the owner Thanh was so lovely and explained all the dishes in detail and checked up on us throughout. We got to try basically all their mains and were completely stuffed at the end - scallop and the duck are a must try, definitely coming back again. Food approved by my picky Vietnamese parents 👍
Had a really wonderful lunch at Rue de Thanh in a group of 8. We opted for the $65 banquet and every single dish was delicious. There were 3 starters and 5 mains plus salad and rice. I would be hard pressed to choose a favourite because it was all delicious but the starter tart that you wrap in lettuce & mint & dip was wonderful. I loved the lemongrass chicken and the beef finely sliced. And the coleslaw was so fresh it really added to the meal. Do support this local Fitzroy gem. It’s well worth it.
We were in Melbourne visiting our son who is over from England at university there and took him and some of his friends there for dinner. We had the most delicious meal ever. We spent 10 days in Australia and it won on the meal front hands down !! The owner was personable, interesting, and the food was well thought out and totally and utterly delicious. We actually went back for a second night at the end of our trip as we loved it so much. We highly recommend going there. Thank you for a very happy second evening with you. (the total winner for us was the pork belly but so many other dishes were delicious as well!)
Here’s a review for Rue de Than in Fitzroy: I’ve dined at Rue de Than in Fitzroy several times, and it consistently delivers an outstanding experience. The food is nothing short of spectacular—fresh, flavorful, and authentically Vietnamese with a refined twist. The owner’s passion for the cuisine truly shines through; they take the time to walk diners through the menu, explaining each dish’s origins and ingredients with infectious enthusiasm. Every time I visit, I find something new to love, and I always leave impressed. If you’re looking for a memorable Vietnamese dining experience in Melbourne, this place is an absolute gem that never disappoints. Highly recommended!
