I'm embarrassed it has taken me SO long to have dinner here at Anchovy. I enjoyed their banh mi and takeaway packs during lockdowns but finally enjoying a sit down meal here was one of my favourite meals this year. Every dish is so well thought out and executed, flavours were just spot on. House made sodas were fantastic too. Service was friendly and not in your face. Will return for sure.
Pretty interesting menu showcasing a plethora of herbs in different dishes, which can sometimes be a bit overwhelming in the palate but in general blends well together. Portions are sadly too small for the price charged, spent $110 pp but still walked out hungry
Absolutely delicious food and cocktails, fantastic friendly service. Casual and slightly quirky. Would highly recommend.
Dinner event arranged by Audi at this small, elegant, highly personal restaurant in Richmond. Great ingredients handled with real skill and care giving us enormous depth of flavour and textual contrast. Laotian cuisine not seen much in Australia but all the dishes are really accessible and delicious....reminded me of a lighter version of northern Thai food. The Murray river cod goy (the Laotian version of larb) was exceptional; the lobster miang a real treat; the wood fired pork and pork sausage both outstanding and the desserts well handled with textual contrast again to the fore. All in all a beautifully balanced meal. Will be back.
