The atmosphere and ambience was phenomenal when we walked in. Our server was Nile and he was fantastic and so welcoming. Very helpful with food recommendations, wine and drinks. The service by him and the team was unbelievable. As we were leaving all of the staff said goodbye to us. Cannot believe how good our time was there. Hats off to the chef's as the food was incredible. We can't wait to come back.
Matilda offers a fine dining experience that’s truly worth a visit. The ambiance is romantic with a touch of vintage charm, plus wonderful service team, making it perfect for a cozy evening. The FRASER ISLAND SPANNER CRAB wasn’t to my taste, mainly due to the sour sauce, but others might enjoy it. The LAMB RIBS were simply outstanding, with perfectly roasted meat that was juicy yet not greasy. DRY AGED DUCK was another highlight, cooked to perfection with impeccable seasoning. For dessert, YUZU CURD was a delightful surprise!
Welcoming service with delicious food . We enjoyed simple starters of mainly seasonal and local ingredients put together innovatively and shared a wood roasted barramundi main. Presentation and flavour of every dish was exceptional. Extensive wine list.Overall this is a class hidden away in South Yarra.
Had a beautiful dinner last night here, the whole experience was amazing. The ambiance when you walk in sets the stage for what’s going to be a wonderful night. Our server, who unfortunately missed her name, was amazing. Every dish we had was above our expectations. The Culatello, lamb ribs, stracciatella and trout was a party in your mouth, the rib eye and duck with potatoes was plenty as mains for 4. The flavours were delicious. The deserts, including a special gluten, dairy free was unexpected were all fabulous. I highly recommend for a special night, or a quiet dinner as it’s a lovely restaurant spend time talking and enjoying exceptional food & service.
