Echo Point is the most famous lookout in the Blue Mountains, renowned for its postcard-perfect view of the Three Sisters – three towering sandstone pillars that rise from the valley. The lookout is easily accessible from the Katoomba town center, with a large viewing platform that accommodates many visitors. On clear days, the vista stretches across the Jamison Valley to the distant escarpments. The Three Sisters have a deep Aboriginal legend, adding cultural significance to the natural spectacle. Visitors can also access the start of several walking tracks, including the Giant Stairway that descends to the valley floor. Echo Point is a must-visit for first-time visitors to the region.
Don't miss
- Photograph the Three Sisters from the main viewing platform at sunrise or sunset.
- Walk the short Prince Henry Cliff Walk for different perspectives of the valley.
- Learn about the Aboriginal legend of the Three Sisters from interpretive signs.
