Sanahin Monastery, founded in the 10th century, is a masterpiece of Armenian medieval architecture. Visitors explore its two main churches, a gavit (narthex), and a scriptorium, all adorned with detailed stone carvings and khachkars (cross-stones). The monastery's elevated position in the Debed Valley provides sweeping views of the surrounding lush gorge. The site is less crowded than Haghpat, allowing for a tranquil experience amidst ancient religious art and history.
