Just spent a week here as part of a group walking holiday. Fantastic hotel! Lovely, comfy room. Great, friendly staff. Good food. Wonderful location.
We have been waiting on the reception-bar. We stayed during 10 long minutes. There were some people from the staff working in the dinning room, they saw - and ignored - us. A man, who we saw later on working in the bar, crossed walking among us, we tried to speak to him, and he continued walking as heard nothing. We looked of course for a better option.
This is the restaurant attached to Hotel Soldeu. The hotel is open to non-residents. The place is large and is located opposite the Soldeu information office. Overall this place served some of the best food we had in Soldeu. They have fixed menus priced at 12.50 and 15.90 euro which is excellent value for the quality. The menus are printed in English, Spanish, Catalan and French. The range of food is extensive. If you choose the fixed menu you order a starter and a main course and then you have a free choice of up to 6 desserts and several cheeses. You serve yourself for dessert and cheese and can choose as many as you like if you are still hungry. Serving is efficient and friendly.
Generous rooms that are in very clean order. A very reasonably priced bar and a superb restaurant. My only advice would be that the restaurant needs to serve dinner earlier than 8pm, which is too late for families with children.
