Maqam Echahid, also known as the Martyrs' Memorial, is a monumental concrete structure standing on a hill overlooking Algiers. Inaugurated in 1982, it consists of three stylized palm leaves that converge at the top, symbolizing the three revolutions (agricultural, industrial, and cultural) or the three regions of Algeria. At the base, an eternal flame burns, and there is a museum dedicated to the war. The monument offers panoramic views of the city and the Bay of Algiers. It is a powerful symbol of national pride and remembrance.
