Overall, I had a good experience dining here. Food is the best part about this restaurant, but service can be improved. My favorite was Enchilada de Mole Rojo. Chips and salsa were pretty good as well. They served us the wrong drink, although it was tasty. This is a small place and good for casual dining. One thing to note is that they add a 20% service fee on the bill by default.
El Sol DC is, without a doubt, one of the finest Mexican restaurants in Washington, DC. My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed with both the quality of the food and the vibrant ambiance. The meal started with mussels and oysters, which were exceptionally fresh and flavorful. Each dish was seasoned to perfection, highlighting the natural taste of the seafood while infusing it with a delightful Mexican twist. The pazole soup was a standout. Rich, hearty, and bursting with authentic flavors, it was the perfect comfort food. The depth of the broth and the tender meat made every spoonful a delight. To accompany our meal, we had the Michelada Traditional. This classic Mexican cocktail was expertly crafted, offering a refreshing and zesty complement to the robust flavors of our dishes. El Sol DC not only serves top-notch Mexican cuisine but also provides an inviting and lively atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. If you’re in DC and craving authentic Mexican food, El Sol DC is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Excellent! Quality of food and service was as good as any in Manta. We visited with 7 of us for the first time and ALL left with the knowledge it wouldn’t be our last! Tacos are HUGE and definitely a great choice if you are VERY hungry or you’d rather share. Of course the margaritas impressed us nearly as much as the food. Excellent flavor! Jorge is a fabulous host and has a great respect for making your experience memorable. Located just a block from the popular Martinica it’s easy to find and with price much more affordable for a family. Can’t wait to visit again!
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Manta. This establishment was formally know as Escarabachi (sp) before they were forced to move. The owner Jorge is from Cuba and has lived in Manta for many years. The Burritos, enchiladas, and tacos are the best. You can select your filling so it is done "your way." They have daily specials. For example they offer two for one Burritos on Monday!
