Chehel Gazi is an archaeological site located about 5 km east of Balkh, believed to be the remains of a Buddhist monastery dating from the Kushan period. The site features a large mound with traces of stupas and monastic cells, indicating its religious significance. Excavations have revealed coins, pottery, and sculptures. Visitors can explore the low ruins, which offer a peaceful atmosphere and a tangible connection to Balkh's Buddhist heritage. It's less visited than other sites, providing a sense of discovery.
